March 4, 2008 Version 3.0 Applications Coming Soon
Version 3.0 science applications slated for release tomorrow. 3.0 will more effectively use bandwidth by decreasing the amount download volume of the Cognitive Architecture by a factor of 2 (Windows/Linux/Mac all now use the same resource file). Windows will runs 2 times more efficiently. Mac gives credit. Mac and Linux upgraded lisp version to SBCL 1.0.12, Windows upgraded to SBCL 1.0.13

I was doing some brainstorming with a collegue and I think we may be able produce a better credit system for mindmodeling.
1. Cognitive Modeler submits a job
2. It is run on a stand-alone simulation boinc network [very very small local cluster of computers] for the first dozen parameter combinations at the extremes of the space
3. claimed credit is averaged across the simulation boinc network
4. the simulation network claimed credit is normalized against SETI
5. A fixed credit is determined for a job as well as more accurate flop estimates
i.e. Valid results from a PRP job will get X credit, PVT_defualt WU will get Y credit, PVT_noattend WU will get Z credit and so on

This will reduce quorum to 1,normalize credit give by MindModeling as compared to other volunteer projects, remove cheating, and standardized credit given to Mac, Linux, and Windows volunteers.

This will take a little time to implement, but I think it is a better solution in the end.

Thanks for your help,
Jack
