We have released a new version of the Nutritious Rice for the World application on Linux. This version fixes several errors that were occurring due to file input/output problems preventing the application from opening certain files. The new application version is 6.15.

World Community Grid is very excited that very soon the number of Results Returned from member computers will reach 200,000,000. This means that since the launch of World Community Grid, every second of every minute, approximately 2 to 3 results are returned to World Community Grid from our members to help humanity.

A very sincere THANK YOU goes to you, the World Community Grid volunteers. Your contributions are helping to make a significant difference in the way researchers are finding solutions to benefit humanity.

To celebrate the 200,000,000 result event, A Team Challenge has been started: THE 200 MILLIONTH RESULT RACE: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/ ... ngeId=1381

In addition, we are going to do the following:

1. The member who returns the 200 millionth result will receive a World Community Grid t-shirt and a Thank You certificate.
2. If the member who returns the 200 millionth result is part of a team, the team captain of that team will also receive a World Community Grid t-shirt and a Thank You certificate for their assistance in rallying support.
3. The team captain of the team that wins “THE 200 MILLIONTH RESULT RACE” challenge will receive a World Community Grid t-shirt and a Thank You certificate for their assistance in rallying support.
4. The member name of the winners will be posted on this thread unless they wish to remain anonymous.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Neues Unterprojekt:
Clean Energy Project

Ein wenig verwirrend, da diese auch einen eigenen BOINC-Server haben aber trotzdem schon WCG WUs ausliefert.

neues Unterprojekt: Influenza Antiviral Drug Search
The mission of the Influenza Antiviral Drug Search project is to find new drugs that can stop the spread of an influenza infection in the body. The research will specifically address the influenza strains that have become drug resistant as well as new strains that are appearing. Identifying the chemical compounds that are the best candidates will accelerate the efforts to develop treatments that would be useful in managing seasonal influenza outbreaks, and future influenza epidemics and even pandemics.

World Community Grid is pleased to announce several new updates to the web site.

Additional Badge Levels: Three new levels of Project Badges have been added. The new badges are for run time contributed to each research project:
- Ruby: 180 days
- Emerald: 1 year
- Sapphire: 2 years

We hope that these new levels of attainment will continue to highlight the accomplishments of our members and provide members who already have obtained Gold badges for any of the active projects something new to shoot for!

In addition to the new Project Badges, the web site now sorts lists of research projects by status (active projects are first, followed by completed projects) and then by project launch date. This may be seen on your My Grid page, as well the My Projects and Statistics by Project (http://wcg.chicago.ibm.com/stat/viewProjects.do) pages.

The next 3 enhancements are to the Results Status page and will help Members gather information to aid the Tech Team and Community Advisors in resolving issues:
- The result name now appears on the Result Log pop-up page
- The Application Version Number is now shown on the Workunit Stats pop-up page
- The more specific statuses: "Server Aborted" and "User Aborted" were added Results Status page
Wer soll das schaffen? Einfach unmöglich bei den Laufzeiten der Projekte.

Bissel älter aber nicht zu vergessen:
World Community Grid has delivered around 350 million results to scientists from 35 research centres in 6 countries. Without this donated computing capacity this research would not be affordable or would take too long to be of value. With it, new drug candidates have been identified for AIDS and tropical diseases, and new cancer diagnostic and therapeutic systems have been developed.

Sorgenkind HPF2:

World Community Grid is pleased to launch the Linux version of The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 (CEP2). This project is provided by the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and hopes to find promising new materials for organic solar cells. (The Mac and Window’s versions will be launched in the next few weeks.)

Bandweiten-Problem

#35 Post by rebirther » 04.07.2010, 08:51

Problem:

Code: Select all

Message from server: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 requires 128.00 kbps download bandwidth. Your computer has been measured at 127.5 kbps
Lösung:
- BOINC stoppen
- client_state.xml editieren und net_stats --> bwdown Wert erhöhen
- BOINC starten

Warum WCG hier so rummeckert, nachdem einiges runtergeladen wurde bei 32Mbit bleibt mir ein Rätsel. Die Projektbetreiber schauen sich aber das noch genauer an.

Könnte sogar ein neues Projekt werden.

We are currently testing in our Alpha Test environment a fix for the performance issues we were seeing on Windows. So far things are looking very good for this build to be released to Beta soon. If things continue to go well I would expect a beta test on Windows to start early next week.

Thanks,
armstrdj
